Mary Ellen Young's Testimonial
Product Description
I received my prayer quilt shortly after the sudden death of my 28 year old son, Zachary.
Arleen, the grandmother of Jonathan, a child in my family day care, made it for me.
When I opened the quilt, I was immediately drawn to the Psalms and the butterflies. The butterflies, I knew, were symbols of new life and the Psalms were reassurance for me that I was never alone and that I would get through this most difficult time. I was immediately attached to my quilt and found comfort in covering myself with it each evening after work. In the early months after my son’s death, it became a daily tool in my grieving journey. After Arleen later explained all of the symbols of the quilt, it became even more meaningful, more healing. Soon after receiving my own quilt, I had Arleen make three more quilts for family members.
As I shared my quilt with friends, they too felt the “power” of the quilt and ordered quilts for themselves and loved ones.
I am sure when Arleen made my quilt, her only intention was to reach out to me as a friend to provide spiritual comfort. I believe that God speaks through others and that Arleen received the message and as a result “A Quilt Full of Prayers” will enable others to receive the comfort and blessings of such a gift.
